CYTOXAN (also known as Cyclophosphamide)
Mechanism:
Cytoxan is an alkylating agent.
Indications:
Due to various systemic side effects, Cytoxan is not a first line agent. Physicians, however, may consider Cytoxan for off-label use in patients with severe autoimmune diseases, including Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis, who have not responded to other treatments.
Contraindications:
Patients with a urinary outflow obstruction should not be started on Cytoxan.
Administration:
The frequency and duration of treatment will be determined by the referring physician.
