RECLAST (also known as Zoledronic Acid)
Mechanism:
Reclast, a potent medication in the bisphosphonate class, reduces bone resorption and turnover and results in a net gain in bone mass.
Indications:
Contraindications:
Patients with hypocalcemia and renal impairment should consult with their physicians prior to starting Reclast.
Administration:
Reclast is typically administered as infusion over 15 minutes every 1-2 years for osteoporosis.
