At Thrivewell, exceptional patient care begins with empowered clinicians. With her new role as Clinical Nurse Manager and Educator, Joanna Lance is dedicated to strengthening clinical excellence while ensuring every nurse and NP feels confident, prepared, and supported.
In this role, Joanna serves as a vital bridge between frontline staff and leadership, helping align day-to-day patient care with Thrivewell’s broader clinical vision. Her focus is on continuing education, competency development, and creating a culture where clinicians feel equipped to deliver the highest standard of care. “Our goal,” Joanna shares, “is to raise the overall clinical competence of the team through ongoing education and support.”
For Joanna, patient-centered care is about more than treatment protocols; it’s about connection. She believes every patient deserves to feel seen, heard, and respected, never rushed or overlooked. By taking the time to listen and understand what matters most to each individual, Joanna emphasizes creating a calm, supportive environment where patients feel safe throughout their infusion journey.
One of Joanna’s most meaningful moments at Thrivewell came from supporting a patient through her pregnancy while receiving Gamunex infusions. After months of care, the patient emailed a photo of her newborn baby. “Seeing that photo made it real,” Joanna reflects. “It was a powerful reminder that our care doesn’t end with an infusion. We’re supporting real lives, families, and futures, and that’s why I chose this field.”
Joanna recognizes that Thrivewell’s clinical staff are truly the face of the organization. By supporting and educating the team, she helps ensure that every patient interaction reflects Thrivewell’s commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. Her work behind the scenes plays a direct role in creating a consistent experience where patients feel welcomed, confident, and cared for at every visit.
When she’s not focused on clinical education and patient care, Joanna enjoys the cozy comforts of winter. She looks forward to holiday baking, especially Christmas cookies, with snowball cookies being her favorite. One of her most cherished winter traditions is celebrating the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve with family and close friends. Her cozy must-have is flannel sheets, and at the top of her holiday wish list is peace and a little more kindness in the world.
Joanna’s passion for education, compassion for patients, and commitment to her team embody what Thrivewell stands for, and we’re grateful to have her leading the way in clinical excellence.
